Minis and Friends visits for Free to all of our facilities that are non-profit. We request an honorarium from other facilities, schools, etc. that have funding due to the raising costs of transportation, insurances and daily expenses. Our goal in 2010 is not to require a suggested donation from any facility or school we visit but we need your help to make all visits free. Donations raised cover expenses for gasoline and maintenance on our vehicles (to get the little guys to work), farrier, grooming supplies, shelter/boarding costs, veterinarian (shots/health certificate) costs, feed and hay, halters and leashes, fly masks and summer sheets (or winter blankets), and much much more that go into the daily caretaking of our mini ambassadors. It also covers our insurances to keep our little guys safe and healthy.
We have creative fundraising which will be shared in 2010 on our Blog page – come on out and meet the little horses.
Not one volunteer is paid at Minis and Friends and 100% of your donation goes back to the minis.

After talking to our minis, we’ve discovered they’ve got a few wishes for some goodies to help them accomplish their mission! Below is their wish list:
Summer blankets with tail cover and buckles to keep us dry and clean after our baths (www.sstack.com – mini size)
Fly masks and fly sheets for miniature horses
Hay – Coastal is preferred in squares. Round bales accepted.
Feed – Platform Miniature Horse feed is preferred, but we’re not picky. Because we weigh at the most about 250 lbs, the special feed made by Platform is just perfect for all our nutrition needs. Available at most feed stores. We need in-kind donations of 4-5 bags a month currently. We may be small, but we eat like big horses!
Boarding fees – Our friends where we board some of our minis give us reduced boarding, but we’re looking for new friends to cover the remaining cost.
Transportation needs – Minis and Friends greatly needs a gently used or fairly new minivan to carry up to six horses at one time to an event or visit. The minis like to be together when they go out on the road for therapy work. After all, it’s more fun to take a trip with all your friends!
Gas/Fuel/Gift Cards – to pay for the gas to take us to a visit or event. Can send check or purchase at your local gas station to send to Minis and Friends.
Trailer – A regular size or miniature horse-size trailer that can be pulled by a car or SUV, thus giving our human friends flexibility in transportation
F-150 used truck, or similar, to pull trailers
Insurance coverage – equine and liability insurance to cover us while on the road
Insurance – sponsorship of General Liability Insurance covering our visits & public events
Pasture Grass Seeds or HydroSeeding – some of us minis go home to our friends on weekends, so our humans need turf grass seed – such as Bermuda or Buffalo Grass – to plant in their yards so we can munch nonstop!

For a major donation, ie. minivan, truck or trailer, we will add your company’s name to the vehicle itself plus all of the above, as well as to our fliers and handouts and our sponsor list.
